Our goal is to offer a comprehensive multimedia outlet that helps individuals locate the resources they need related to finding jobs, workforce training, consumer protection and financial planning. Collection of Information

You do not need to reveal any personally identifying information to access information on Help Wanted Interactive. However, visitors who don’t want to share personally identifying information may not be able to engage in certain activities that require registration, such as participating in our MySource testimonial tool. In general, we may seek to collect information about users in order for users to participate in the following services:

• Submission of content to the MySource testimonial tool (an online outlet for users to explain how public broadcasting has been helpful in their lives).
• User comments.

Demographic Information

Help Wanted Interactive may use online surveys to collect information on the demographics of our users. Such information will always be recorded and reported in the aggregate, and will not be linked to any personally identifying information or browser.

Cookies

Our affiliated sites may use cookies to facilitate processes such as online donations or online store purchases. However, we do not use cookies for the Help Wanted Interactive site itself.

How We Use Information

Personally identifying information that you may choose to submit to Help Wanted Interactive will not be used for anything other than its stated purpose. When you provide personally identifying information for a specific purpose, we may share your information with third parties only to the extent that it is necessary in assisting us to process your request. That includes, but is not limited to, fulfillment and transaction managers and credit verification services. Help Wanted Interactive may also share information with third parties, in correspondence with the law, for the purposes of a criminal investigation, infringement of intellectual property rights or other activity that is reasonably suspected to be illegal. We will retain your personally-identifiable information for only as long as reasonable to fulfill a legal or business purpose, but in no event longer than two years.

Help Wanted Interactive and Children Under 13

Help Wanted Interactive is not subject to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), as the site is not directed to and does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. Nevertheless, we urge parents and guardians to actively protect the privacy of children and to prevent inappropriate uses of information about their children. Parents are advised to instruct their children not to provide their real name or any identifying information on the Internet.

Usage Logs

Help Wanted Interactive may use embedded code on its web pages to compile statistics about web page activity, including how many visits a particular web page receives, how long these visits last, etc. These statistics are compiled anonymously and will be used internally only. Statistics of this sort are only available in the aggregate, and are not associated with any specific user, computer or browser.

Moderation and User-Generated Content

Any user-generated content submitted to the ‘Help Wanted’ pages will be vetted by appropriate staff members at WCNY and/or WMHT. WCNY and WMHT moderators will not post any personally-identifiable information other than a user’s first name and last initial and city or town of residence. WCNY and WMHT moderators will not post any online solicitations, offers for service, trades or other economic transactions of any kind, nor will WCNY and WMHT moderators post any user-generated content that seeks to facilitate such an economic transaction on another site. For other types of postings that shall be prohibited, see our Terms of Use. We urge our users to respect the privacy of others. Posting another person’s personally identifiable information is prohibited, and will not be allowed by Help Wanted moderators. We reserve the right to disallow any postings that would violate any part of our Privacy Policy or Terms of Use, and we reserve the right to ban any participant who seeks to circumvent our Privacy Policy and/or Terms of Use.

Security

We employ reasonable security measures to protect against the misuse of the personally identifiable information that you have entrusted to us. However, total security is not possible. We cannot ensure that the information you submit to us—or that we store in relation to Help Wanted Interactive—is completely secure.

Online Privacy Policy Only

This online privacy policy only applies to information collected through the WMHT and WCNY ‘Help Wanted’ web pages and not to information collected offline.
